And yes, the real world has kicked my ass repeatedly.
Just because I haven’t been blogging doesn’t mean I haven’t been working, though. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact. I’ve actually spent considerable time putting pen to paper, and have accomplished more in the last two weeks than I did in the last four months of 2012.
First – I completed and submitted a proposal package for a novel series. Details will be forthcoming as I have them. Just cross your fingers for me, because I’m starting to get both excited and nervous about the prospect.
Second – I finished my sword & sorcery nightmare, Black Ice Castle, and submitted it to Seventh Star Press’ THUNDER ON THE BATTLEFIELD Anthology. The Editor has been sufficiently warned.
Third – I have a second proposal almost complete and waiting in the wings in the event that Proposal #1 is rejected. This one is bigger and scarier, and I’ve been living with the first book for eleven years. ELEVEN FREAKING YEARS. One day I’ll actually write it and give it away.
I’ve also been finishing up some beta reading and content edits on stories for a few friends.
And the other half of my brain (the sweetness and light side) has been working on a blog tour, edits for the reissue of two previously published works and finishing up a second novel for submission.
AND ALL OF THAT… it’s all in addition to the full-time family and this crazy job that has taken over my head. All I know is that my HR Manager needs to get his tookus back to work. Like, YESTERDAY. Otherwise I may become one of those crazy people in my books.
Oh, yeah… I’m also scheduling posts and gearing up for a big Anti-Valentines Horror Fest beginning January11th. More to come on that. So far I’m in cahoots with Tom Olbert, Rie Sheridan Rose, and Selah Janel. More special guests to come. I’ll keep ‘ya posted.
Take time to breathe, my friend. You always find ways to over-commit yourself. 🙂
